To most people a gym is a gym, full stop, somewhere that they go to try as hard as they possibly can to regain a least a little of the shape that they had what seems like only yesterday. Exercise is exercise no matter where you happen to be doing it, and how long you do it for. That is of course unless you live in the capital, where there seems to be a London gym for almost any type of exercise that you could possibly think of.
Not content with the basic run of the mill gym, some of these places offer you the chance to try something that may be a little bit outside of your comfort zone. There is for example something called krav maga which seems to be very popular, as well as the normal run of the mill things like boxing or karate.
If a London gym wants to stand out amongst these exciting places, it has to have something just a little bit special, and apparently there is one that has a 200 metre elevated running track of their very own. This is just one of the lengths that these places will go to in order to keep their customers happy and coming back.
For those who like alternative fitness regimes, power plate seems to hit the spot, especially as this high speed training offers something extra. If you do a 25 minute class of it this has the same effect as doing 60 minutes of normal strenuous exercise.
There are some gyms that have Olympic size boxing rings in them if a spot of pugilism is what takes your fancy. There are even some that offer such gems as stiletto classes, exotic dancing and if you fancy yourself as a spy, the 007 workout whatever that involves.
Obviously the further that you are away from the capital the less chance you have of coming across some of these. If all that you want is a good gym then there are now more than enough of these new modern places to go around.
They are full of the latest state of the art exercise equipment to make sure that you get the very best from your workout. The changing and shower facilities will be second to none, and the exercising area large and airy for your comfort.
The staff on hand will be not only experienced but also very knowledgeable when it comes to all things exercise related. They will offer advice should you need it and more importantly motivation when you seem to have hit the obligatory brick wall in your workout.
There will also be a number of different classes available so that if the gym is not your thing, you still have several exercising options open to you. They can vary from something as relaxing as yoga to the phenomenon that is zumba, and many things in between.
The chances are that you will be more than satisfied with one of these gyms, and therefore have no need to move to the capital.
